The Queensland Young Nationals proudly lay claim to two candidates contesting for the privilege of representing Queensland in Canberra at the party’s upcoming Senate pre-selection being held on December 2. Former State Vice-President and Townsville resident, 25 year old Mary McAucliffe is one of the great candidates on offer from the Queensland Young Nationals. “Mary is someone who I have known for quite a long time and have always found her to display a strong character that will serve the Nationals well in the Senate” State President Damien Tessmann said. 28-year-old Greater Brisbane Young National, David Goodwin has also put up his hand. “David’s candidature is a great step forward as he is a young man with a young family and he brings that personal experience with him. He is a candidate of high stature,” Mr Tessmann said. “We in the Young Nationals are the future of this great party and the young men and women who make up our membership will be the next Premiers of Queensland, Deputy Prime Ministers and Senators. “The sweat and toil put in by the Young Nationals have etched a position of respectability and influence and this highlights just how pivotal we are in the Queensland Nationals” Mr Tessmann stated. “I would like to take this opportunity to wish the best of luck to all candidates for December 2,” he said.
